Best Time for Cycling in Mallorca

Mallorca is a year-round cycling destination, but the best time to visit depends on what kind of riding you want to do and how tolerant you are of heat and crowds.

Spring (March–May) is widely considered the perfect cycling season. Temperatures range from 15–24°C, the island is green and blooming, and the cycling community comes alive. March and April see the highest concentration of pro teams and amateur cyclists training on the island. Roads can be busy with groups, but the atmosphere is electric.

Autumn (September–November) is equally excellent. The summer heat has subsided, the sea is still warm for post-ride swims, and the roads are quieter than spring. October is a hidden gem — warm days, cool mornings, and spectacular light for photography.

Summer (June–August) is hot, with July and August temperatures often exceeding 30°C. Early morning starts (before 7 AM) are essential. The upside: long days, beach time, and a vibrant holiday atmosphere. Stick to coastal routes with sea breezes.

Winter (December–February) is mild but unpredictable. You'll get plenty of rideable days (8–15°C), but also rain and wind. The Tramuntana mountains can be cold at altitude. Winter is perfect for riders who want quiet roads and off-season prices.
