Mallorca Gravel Cycling Guide
Mallorca's gravel scene is growing fast. The island offers hundreds of kilometers of unpaved roads, farm tracks, and forest trails, particularly in the Tramuntana foothills and the interior plains around Petra and Sant Llorenç.
The best gravel riding is found in the Tramuntana mountains, where old charcoal-burners' roads and forest tracks connect remote valleys. These routes offer spectacular scenery and a real sense of adventure.
The central plain around Petra, Vilafranca, and Sant Joan offers a different gravel experience — fast, rolling farm roads through almond and carob groves with minimal traffic.
A gravel bike with 40–45mm tires is ideal for Mallorca. Most rental shops now offer gravel bikes, and the island has several gravel-specific rental operations.
